What are good games like Wordle that are not about words?
Look for daily logic puzzles that use colour, shape or position instead of letters. Terrazzo is one: a daily mosaic where you fit coloured stones into a frame so the day's Laws hold.
- No vocabulary needed. The puzzle rests on rules and patience, so a tired brain still has a fair chance.
- One puzzle a day. Everyone gets the same mosaic, which keeps the Wordle-style habit intact.
- A calm finish. When the Laws hold, the colours settle into a picture of something real, with a short story.
Why look for a daily puzzle without words?
Some days the right word will not come. A guessing game can feel unfair on those days, even when you know the rules well.
A logic puzzle asks a different question. Instead of "do I know this word", it asks "what must be true here". You can reason your way forward, one small step at a time.
What does a puzzle without words look like?
Many daily logic puzzles use a grid. You place marks or pieces, and a few clear rules decide what is allowed. There is no spelling and no trivia.
Terrazzo works this way with coloured stones. Each day has one or two Laws, chosen from three. They are short enough to hold in your head.
- Kinship. Touching stones of one colour form a region, and the frame's edge lists the sizes those regions must have.
- Solitude. No two sun cells may touch, not even corner to corner.
- The Vein. The vein cells form one unbroken path between the frame's two notches.

How is it different from a word game?
A word game usually ends in a guess. Here you build a whole answer and check it against the Laws as you go. You can see what is wrong, and you know what to fix.
That makes it feel less like a quiz and more like tidying a small room. There is no clock, so you can stop and come back later.
If you also like the daily ritual, see games like Wordle for what that habit looks like in a different puzzle.
Is it free, and is there anything to sign up for?
The daily puzzle is free to play. There are no ads, no timer and no account.
Terrazzo runs on iPhone and iPad only. The archive of past mosaics is open to everyone for now. Past days open with keys you earn by solving the daily puzzle.
What if I get stuck?
Being stuck is normal, and nobody sees it. Step away for an hour, then look again.
Every day has three hints. A nudge arrives at 00:00 UTC, the Laws in plain words at 08:00 UTC, and the answer at 16:00 UTC. The leaderboard counts unaided solves only, so you can choose how much help you want.
